I've played a number of tactical boardgames over the years and have even used some of them to create training problems for my real-life tank platoon. I've also done a lot of study on the tank combat on the Eastern Front during World War II.

Based on what I know about the nature of those tank battles, there is no question that Storms of Steel is the most realistic boardgame simulation of armored combat on the Eastern Front that I have ever played. It is without question the best boardgame that I have ever played in terms of accurately representing the tank tactics used by both sides.
